REIKI FOR ALLERGIES

Allergy is the word used to describe an adverse (bad) reaction that the body has to a particular food or substance in the environment.

Most substances that cause allergies are not harmful and have no effect on people who are not allergic.

The Allergic Response

Any substance that triggers an allergic reaction is called an allergen. Some of the most common allergens include pollen, house dust mites, mould and pets. Less common allergens include nuts, fruit and latex.

An allergy develops when the body’s immune system reacts to an allergen as though it is a threat, like an infection. It produces antibodies to fight off the allergen, in a reaction called the immune response.

The next time a person comes into contact with the allergen, the body "remembers" the previous exposure and produces more of the antibodies. This causes the release of chemicals in the body that lead to an allergic reaction.

Common allergic disorders include asthma, eczema and hay fever. Symptoms of an allergy can include sneezing, wheezing, coughing and skin rashes.

The nature of the symptoms depend on how you came into contact with the allergen. For example, you may experience problems with your airways if you breathe in pollen.

One of the greatest Reiki healing health benefits is stress reduction and relaxation, which triggers the bodies natural healing abilities, and improves and maintains health. Reiki healing is a natural therapy that gently balances life energies and brings health and well being to the recipient.

This simple, non-invasive healing system works with the Higher Self of the Receiver to promote health and well being of the entire physical, emotional and psychic body. Therefore it is truly a system of attaining and promoting wholeness of Mind, Body and Spirit and therefore can be very helpful in recovering from relationship break ups and or traumas.

When you arrive for your treatment, you will have a chance to talk with me and ask any questions. If you have any special requirements please let me know in advance, so I can do my best to make sure your experience is comfortable and safe. You will be lying down for your treatment, fully clothed and with your eyes closed. You will be informed of the process before I begin and will be able to talk about your experience after the treatment if you wish too. The treatment will take about 40 minutes allowing 10 minutes either side of the treatment to chat, relax and ask questions.

No contact is made to the face, throat, chest (on women), genitals or any area that you request.

As well as deep relaxation some people may experience other sensations:

Heat or coolness; tingling; magnetic sensations;energy moving through the body; floating or sinking; colours or dream like visions; memories resurfacing; physical movement or twitching; an emotional release.

If you have a physical condition sometimes you may experience an increase in symptoms during your treatment, this is nothing to worry about and will dissipate as soon as the treatment is over if not before.

You should always seek medical advice if you have any health concerns. A Reiki practitioner is not able to diagnose conditions or offer medical advice.

All medical treatments should be continued unless your GP or other appropriate medical professional suggests otherwise.

My name is Sue Reynolds. I am a Reiki Master Teacher running a Reiki treatment clinic in Harrow. I specialise in helping clients from Harrow with stress related problems which Reiki is very beneficial in treating.
